February 2019: Spread the love with Print the Love

Updated: May 19, 2021

Capturing moments in the form of instant pictures are opportunities to create permanent memories but if nothing more, a time to bring joy and happiness. Print the Love (https://printthelove.org/story) is a byproduct of the life journey and vision of Ceallaigh Anderson Smart. As a way to find healing for the trauma she faced, Ceallaigh traveled to Rwanda and began working in schools, hospitals, prisons and churches. It was through her interactions with people across these settings that she found a common thread. Each of them were overcome with excitement after having their pictures taken and that’s where the epiphany set in. Her passion to extend this seemingly small gift of polaroid pictures for those living in the poorest countries has spread love in simple yet meaningful ways.

Thanks to one of my closest friends, Claythe, and her encouragement to submit an application, I’ve been able join the mission of impacting lives, even through these small gestures. Much like the communities in Rwanda, Haitians love having their pictures taken and I have not met any in Thomassique that have pictures of themselves or their families. Really happy to be part of this journey and encourage anyone traveling to developing regions to look into Print the Love. Here are some moments I’ve been honored to capture and I hope it brings you as much joy as it has brought these amazing souls
